When you go to the gym, play with your children, or go on a run you are doing more than just burning calories, you are treating your mind as well. I enjoy being outside and I try to stay active with the time I have available in my life, but I know that is easier said than done.  However, that being said what you gain from getting that blood pumping makes it worth the time you invest. The benefits of exercise aid those who struggle with depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress, and all kinds of other mental illness because the brain is getting relief. The mind and body are connected and when you are taking care of your body, you are making it easier for your brain to cope with whatever you have going on. For example, with anxiety exercise provides distraction, reduces muscle tension, builds brain resources, teaches different outcomes, it reroutes brain circuits, and improves resilience. This can be a resource that can be implemented immediately and the more you gain the more likely you will want to engage. This is why I have provided this nice list for you 🙂
